Tennis requires strength, power, endurance, balance, and speed, and tennis star Anna Kournikova's 52-minute workout, aimed at experienced athletes, emphasizes these fitness elements. Kournikova warms up by jumping rope, including one-footed hopping and speed jumping. Then she trains muscle endurance with 15 to 20 repetitions of varied lower- and upper-body exercises using dumbbells and a stability ball. Next a partner joins her for the medicine ball segment, including overhead throw, side toss, power drop, and other power moves. She then trains for speed and agility with high-knee sprints, lateral shuffles, and a variety of cone sprints (you won't be able to do these in your living room). Finally she challenges your anaerobic endurance with plyometric (explosive power) moves like jumping boxes and speed stepping. This video is recommended for serious athletes looking to improve their sports performance and all-around fitness.
